To address ABF’s expanded brief, the design solution centred on transforming the entire third floor into a flexible, modern workspace that supports various work styles while representing the company’s diverse brands. Starting with comprehensive space planning, the design focused on enhancing connectivity between areas and creating functional work settings. The introduction of private phone booths, focus zones, and an agile working area diversified the space, allowing employees to choose from a variety of environments suited to their tasks.
The tea point was completely refurbished to create a social hub and visual divider, while custom design elements, such as a display cabinet for ABF products, were added to personalise the space and reflect the brand’s identity. The integration of biophilia, acoustic improvements, and a focus on employee well-being helped foster a more inclusive and supportive work environment, aligning with ABF’s goals of modernisation and employee engagement. Additionally, a sustainable feature—a brick wall made from compacted, shredded fabric from old clothing—served as both a creative design element and a nod to both DENTON and ABF’s sustainability initiatives.
